For those of you who need a little more Known in your Unknown: we are engaged in a book-turned-ritual-turned-fabric-turned-game. Art is participatory evolution, and as such, your choices change the way these storythreads weave into the world. This book asks to be experienced in time-honored dialectic fashion, with elements inviting direct participation.
Stories are released episodically in each Character’s thread. (See Birds’ Eye View for a patchwork map so storythreads, or The Stories for a more traditional playbill motif.) These are free, so please visit as often as you like & share as you will. We practice gift economy, so for those who wish only to read, that’s available. It’s a book. Step by step by step by flap. If you want to opt in to Participatory Evolution… read on. The Nature of this storytelling is about Choice. Consent. Ye Olde Choose Your Own Adventure books have a fixed set of options in which the story could play out, and readers are asked to choose among them on their own. This one is different; Choose OUR Own Adventure. This storyweave has its histories & memories, its causes & conditions, its winding path of storytelling, but the end has not been told. It invites you to be in living relationship with the Character(s) of your Choice, in realtime, and you can choose to participate in that relationship in ways that will change how the story unfolds. Some have called it an experimental metafictional Jungian soap opera of integration. Which is to say: the story is different because you’re reading it. The game changes as we access Choice. The end has not been written; we will learn to tell it together as it evolves. Consent is a collaborative dance.

Worth noting: there is a map upon which all stories fall. Perhaps this will be made available at some point for your viewing pleasure. Or you will draw it yourself and offer it for inclusion. Or it will be discovered in a ball jar beside the Dead Sea. For now… please consider each story connected by a fine silver thread, like the events of your own daily life and the existence of everything else everywhere & everywhen. Oh yeah, and a relevant disclaimer: don’t buy the hype about linear time. Some stories are best understood when traced backwards. Others require a good look at the whole field before the shape comes clear. And many only become available to perception when certain senses are dialed up and others dialed down. So word to the wise: get to know your Equalizer functions, keep track of where you are, and choose as Choice becomes available. (Adventure!)
